Inspiration Monday: Fashion that looks good on paper

*It's our first (official, at least) inspiration post! Seems like Mondays are the most uninspired days, but it's also our best chance to hit up some of the awesomeness we've taken in over the weekend. Here goes...

This Inspiration Monday is all about fashion. Summer's well on its way, and we've noticed the girls donning some super cute dresses and tops already this year. Sure, you say, dresses are fun and all, but what does have to do with yummy paper goodness? Well, our twisted paper minds can find inspiration in anything. And, apparently, so can the fashion gods. Check out some of this year's hottest trends on the runway as seen on Style.com. Would we be able to pull them off down Peachtree Street? Probably not. Would they make for some chic notecard designs? No doubt.

Love the overlapping zigzags on this top by Andy & Deb. The see through quality's making me think in velum, but it could also be pretty in a white linen paper.

This 3-D masterpiece by Christopher Kane would be an ambitious paper cutting endeavor indeed, but we love how the half circles look like flower petals. And we love the color palette!

Miu Miu always knows how to make a hot dress. Here's some creative pleating that also has a spraypaint flare that reminds us of a particular look we're trying out on a new collection of our own (stay tuned)...

Most times, we're on the fence on fringe, but if we're talking paper, this metallic lovely by Aquilano.Rimondi is inviting us to a party we want to go to.

Okay, so this number by Viktor & Rolf is more for Judy Jetson than for us, but you have to appreciate the amazing lines and use of color. Call me Nina Garcia, but I have to say this one has a "very strong point of view," fashionwise and paperwise. I'm cutting my colorful strips of cardstock as we speak...

Be sure to go to Style.com for more of Spring 09's best trends.

Inspiration Mondays are as fun as we thought! Until next week...
