It's Baby Season

Wow. I know two women that have just had babies and four women that are due in September. Seems like babies are popping up everywhere and that means more business has been headed our way :) We recently completed two baby showers and are currently working on two more birth announcements. The baby showers were for a boy and a girl, so it was really fun creating different ideas for each party. The client for the baby girl shower just wanted something simple and cute, while the client for the baby boy shower wanted the theme to be sporty. The mom is a HUGE UGA fan, so of course we had to incorporate that into the invite.

Happy Birthday, Andy

It's Jen's husband's birthday today. And in honor of paper inspiration Monday (and the fact that it's Andy's birthday) I am going to present some fun wrapping paper options that I've found online. Most wrapping paper is girlie and pretty cheesy. And if you're like my grandma, you just use the comics to save a few extra pennies. However, if you are like me and enjoy the presentation as much as the gift-giving, you'll find this wrapping paper worth the extra couple bucks to give the pefect gift inside and out.

Sup Shawty

Yesterday, Jen and I had a fun time putting together bundles of cards for a gift bag that will be handed out at event held at Urban Cottage on July 30th. Jessica Silverstein, owner of Urban Cottage, is having a cocktail party at the store to raise money for katesclub.org. Kate’s Club is a non-profit organization that empowers children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling. It's a great organization, so if you buy an item at the event, you get a free gift bag full of great, local, business swag and, of course, some of our hand-made cards. You can check out the details of the event here. It starts at 6pm. Don't forget!

Here is a glimpse of what we are putting in each gift bag. Each bundle has four different, brightly colored cards that display slang sayings. These cards say "Sup Shawty", "Werrd", "Fo Shizzle", and "Hey Holmes". We hope to be posting these on Etsy soon with more sayings to come.

"Falling" in Love

This past week we were working frantically on a bridal shower for a wedding that is occurring in the fall. Our client wanted a graphic, yet fun invitation that incorporated the color red and was nice prelude to the autumn wedding. We had a little bit of added anxiety, since the bride is an artist as well, so we knew we had to step up our game to make a beautiful invitation that would be appreciated by all. Here are some pics of the final invitation.

Backyard Party

Just completed a set of invitations for a family get together that celebrates a lovely couple getting married in January. The host wanted a classy summer look for the cards that incorporated their backyard. They have a cute little pond nestled outback, so it was a no-brainer when it came to designing the final invite.

Lazy Days of Summer

So, I basically took a good two weeks off from life and went on vacation. First, one of my best friends from Penn State came down to visit for a few days. Then my boyfriend and I went to the beach to relax and be beach bums. After being at the beach for 5 days, we went directly to Pittsburgh to visit my family. It was a great vacation that was relaxing, fun, and overall something I have been needing for some time. So for today, I'll just post some pictures from my vacation.
